Time for Honest Ibe to call out the fiction writers

Of course, most Muslims worldwide are not Arabs, and most Arabs and native Arabic speakers in the United States are not Muslims, but this story is still extraordinarily significant in light of CAIR's repeated claims that "anti-Muslim hate crimes" have risen sharply in the U.S. since 9/11. They know well that victimhood is big business: insofar as they can claim protected victim status for themselves, they can deflect unwanted scrutiny and any critical examination of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and supremacism.

That's probably why CAIR and others have not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating "hate crimes." They want hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Hate crimes against Arab Americans have decreased steadily since the September 11 attacks but are still more common than they were before the hijackings, a civil rights group said on Thursday.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee said it received an average of 120 to 130 reports of ethnically motivated attacks or threats each year between 2003 and 2007, a sharp decrease from the 700 violent incidents it documented in the weeks following the 2001 attacks.

But that figure is still higher than the 80 to 90 reports it received in the late 1990s, the civil rights group said.

Incidents tended to increase after other terrorist attacks, such as the 2005 London subway bombings, the group said. Many incidents did not begin with a clear motivation of bias, but assailants would use racial or ethnic slurs as the situation intensified, the group said.

Incidents range from harassment and vandalism by neighbors to death threats from co-workers. One Arab American man in Alabama was shot by a customer who had been yelling racial slurs at a Middle Eastern restaurant in 2006, the group said....

Security forces shoot six "gunmen" at Delhi airport

More jihad in the offing for India? "BREAKING NEWS: 'Gunmen shot' by security forces at Delhi airport," by David Williams in the Daily Mail, December 4 (thanks to LGF2):

Gunmen are reported to have been shot by Indian security forces at Delhi's main international airport tonight after a massive security operation was imposed following warnings that terrorists were planning 9/11-style hijackings and possible suicide attacks.

Airports in India went on high alert today following fresh warnings of attacks as officials said India suspects two senior leaders of a banned Pakistani militant group orchestrated last week's atrocity in Mumbai which left 188 people including a Briton dead and more than 300 injured.

Details on the shootings are sketchy but witnesses said police fired at least six round at a gunman or gunmen outside the main airport building.

It was not immediately clear whether there had been casualties.

The Indian police have called it a 'minor incident' in which no-one was killed, according to the Associated Press....

Egyptian cleric calls Obama to convert to Islam

As you may have noticed, the site has been down for several hours -- but don't worry, we have not been hacked. I was told that there was a problem with a server in Atlanta, and that I'd just have to wait, and anyway, now the problem, whatever it was, seems to have been solved.

And while we were out comes this news of an Egyptian cleric telling Obama, "aslim taslam" (أسلم تسلم‎) -- "Embrace Islam and you will be safe." This phrase is derived from Muhammad's words:

Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"

Note the clear implication that if the one to whom this call is issued does not become a Muslim, his life and property will not be safe.

There is also the question of what is to become of the person who declines the invitation to become a Muslim. Muhammad said this also:

When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. [...]

If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them.

Following are excerpts from an address delivered by Egyptian cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal, which aired on Al-Nas TV on November 27, 2008.

Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal: Let me take this opportunity to address the leader of Europe, and the leader of America, who is the leader of the world, the recently-elected Obama, who is the leader of the Byzantines – he is like the Byzantine leaders in the days of Prophet Muhammad.

My message to him is three-fold. First, I invite him to convert to Islam. This is the call of the Prophet and of Allah. Oh Obama – convert to Islam, and you will be saved. I hope that Allah will reward you twice: Once for converting to Islam, and another reward for all those who will convert in your footsteps. If you want glory – you will find it in Islam. If you want honor – you will find it in Islam. In religions other than Islam there is utter humiliation, even if you are the president of the entire world.

You, Obama, are among those who have pledged before Allah – Allah who created you, sustained you, and brought you to this position – to be a Muslim who believes that Allah is the one God, especially since you have some kind of roots in Islam. Convert to Islam, and you will be saved. All glory and honor lie in following Allah and His messenger Muhammad. Know that the true religion is the religion of Islam, and all other religions are fabricated religions, which are null and void – religions that were abrogated by the shari’a of Muhammad.

If you refuse to return to your [Islamic] origins, to the way Allah created you, withdraw your huge armies and military bases from the lands of the Muslims. Know that all your predecessors have ended up in the garbage bin of history, and that America’s black and bleak history in the land of the Muslims and the Arabs constitutes an evil omen for you, your predecessors, and your successors. Know, Obama, that America, with all its size and might, will know no peace, as long as a single Muslim child lacks food, drink, medicine, or housing. If you refuse, Obama, and insist on remaining in Muslim lands, know that Allah still plants in [Muslims] obedience to Him, and they are willing to wait for Paradise, which is closer than their own shoelaces.

Know, Obama, that in the lands of Islam, there are people who seek death, and are eager for it, even more than you and your people are eager for life – any kind of life, even a life of humiliation.

US, India: We've got proof that Pakistan's spy agency was involved in Mumbai jihad

New Delhi: India has proof that ISI was involved in planning the Mumbai terror attacks and training the terrorists who killed 183 people during a 60-hour siege of the country's financial capital, sources said.

The names of trainers and the places where meticulous training took place are also known to the government, the sources said.

The United States is believed to have even more evidence some of which it has shared with India, they said.

Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, who was in Pakistan on Wednesday, is believed to have told his Pakistani interlocutors that Washington had enough evidence to show a Pakistani hand in the attack, the sources said.

Sources also refuse to believe that the Pakistani army did not have knowledge of the Mumbai operation given that ISI is controlled by it.

At the same time, sources do not believe that the civilian government in Pakistan is involved in the attack. In fact, one view is that the civilian government itself may be a target of the strike which may be used by the army to heighten tensions with India to return to power.

Washington has asked Pakistan to crackdown on Lashkar-e-Toiba, which now goes under the name of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, and to arrest its chief Hafeez Mohd Saeed because it has evidence of their involvement in the attack, the sources said.

The attack was planned, equipped and organised in Pakistan where the terrorists were trained and provided logistical support.

Contrary to the version that the terrorists used a hijacked Indian fishing boat to reach Mumbai after sailing from Karachi, the view is that much more sophisticated means were used.

The sources spoke of a clear disconnect between the Pakistani civilian government and the all-powerful military establishment, which is causing difficulties for India in dealing with the situation....

More than two thousand Islamists, mainly students, took to the streets of Pakistan's capital Islamabad on Wednesday (December 3) to protest against Indian accusations over the attacks on Mumbai last week, Indian investigators have said the Mumbai attackers had months of commando training in Pakistan by the Lashkar-e-Taiba group, blamed for a 2001 attack on India's parliament. Pakistan has condemned the Mumbai assault, denies any involvement by state agencies and has offered to work with India in its investigations into the attacks. Pakistan rejects what it calls "unsubstantiated allegations" of complicity.

Chanting "We are alive, by the grace of Allah," the protesters marched towards the Parliament House but were stopped by security personnel behind barbed wire barriers. "In the wake of the self-inflicted terrorism in Mumbai, India wants to become another America, and plans to attack Pakistan," Raees Gul, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami's students wing told the crowd, which prayed for Pakistan and burned flags of India, the US and Israel. India has said most, if not all, the 10 militants who rampaged through its financial capital killing 171 people were from Pakistan, including the one survivor. India has long said Pakistan is unable or unwilling to act against anti-India militant groups there....

Gorin: The Spineless, Castrated Non-men of the Wall Street Journal

Julia Gorin discusses the WSJ's James Taranto's gingerly distaste for Dutch freedom warrior Geert Wilders, and related matters:

Over the weekend, Robert Spencer called out Wall St. Journal drone James Taranto on his cynicism about the intentions of the man who is most adamant about preserving Western civilization, Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders.

Specifically, as Spencer points out, Taranto finds Wilders’ views on Islam “problematic” and isn’t sure whether or not Geert Wilders is simply an "anti-Islamic provocateur." To which Spencer replies, “It is a pity that Taranto would characterize speaking accurately about how Muslims use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and Islamic supremacism as being an ‘anti-Islamic provocateur.’"

Indeed, it’s like calling a public official an “anti-rapist provocateur,” or “anti-Manson-cult provocateur.” Taranto is also skeptical when Wilders “insists that his antagonism toward Islam reflects no antipathy toward Muslims.” On which Spencer again calls Taranto: “When a writer uses ‘insists,’ generally he thinks that the facts are other than whatever position his subject is insisting upon. In other words, Taranto here seems to reveal his own assumption that someone who reports and warns about Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacism is doing so simply out of some irrational ‘antipathy toward Muslims.’”

A wise ruling: the National Socialist Party (that's the Nazis, kids) had social programs also. "Court Upholds $156 Million Judgment Against Hamas Supporters," from IPT News, December 3:

An appellate court has upheld a $156 million judgment against two organizations found to have provided financial support to Hamas and sent the claim against a third back to district court for a new trial. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling Wednesday that eliminated the distinction between supporting the violent and social wings of a terrorist group.

"If you give money to an organization that you know to be engaged in terrorism, the fact that you earmark it for the organization's nonterrorist activities does not get you off the liability hook," Judge Richard Posner wrote for the majority.

The ruling favors Joyce and Stanley Boim, whose son David was shot and killed by Hamas terrorists in 1996. It upholds the damages against the Quranic Literacy Institute, a Chicago-area non profit that was accused of laundering money for Hamas and the American Muslim Society, which the judges found "did know and in giving money to the (Holy Land) Foundation was deliberately funneling money to Hamas."

The court described the American Muslim Society as "an alter ego" of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). The IAP served as a Hamas propaganda arm in the U.S. Three IAP officials – Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad and Rafeeq Jaber – founded the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in 1994....

Follow-up call for UN to condemn killings in name of God/Religion

On Friday, November 28, the Association for World Education addressed an ‘Urgent Appeal’ to the President of the Human Rights Council and the High Commission for Human Rights on the ongoing Jihadist massacres in India: Mumbai: Condemn killings in name of God or Religion – any Religion.

On Monday, December 1, I concluded our brief oral statement (reduced from three to two minutes for all NGOs) to the 8th Special Session of the Human Rights Council (on the tragic “Situation of human rights in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo”) in referring to the Mumbai monstrosities by quoting John Donne and our ‘Urgent Appeal’. I was not ruled ‘out of order’.

Mr President, we wish to conclude by expressing our profoundest condolences to India and to all the bereft families of the more than 200 massacred, and the hundreds maimed and marked for life by that barbaric crime committed before the eyes of the world – and of this 8th Special Session. What more profound thought than those immortal words of the 17th century poet John Donne: “And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.” In this spirit of mourning, we are making available our ‘Urgent Appeal’ to you and to the High Commissioner, delivered on Friday, and entitled: Mumbai: Condemn all killings in the name of God or Religion – any Religion.

Islam a religion of peace -- daily headlines notwithstanding!

Fresh pile of taqiyya from the OIC -- also known as the Islamic organization fervently trying to impose "blasphemy laws" on the UN. Interesting, too, how, far from spending any significant amount of time condemning the Mumbai jihadists, the OIC is more outraged that the world is rightfully associating their violent actions with the jihad.

"OIC: Islam, the religion of peace, tolerance and compassion," from the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, December 2:

With the multiplicity of terrorist attacks perpetrated recently by deviant and fanatic individuals, the General Secretariat of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has noticed a tendency of a section of the media, to interpose the word "Islam" in reporting these incidences.

Gee, why is that? Could it be because these "deviant and fanatic individuals" are constantly quoting the Koran and the words of Islam's prophet Muhammad? Could it be because they are constantly threatening infidels with death and destruction (or at least dhimmitude) -- in accordance with Islamic law? Could it be because they make clear time and time again that their gripe with their neighbors -- be they Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, or Jews -- is a product of a well known, well documented, Islamic supremacist world-view?

Islam, the religion of peace, tolerance and compassion, that sanctifies the human soul, and whose universal message is one of mutual peaceful coexistence among all the peoples of the world, regardless of their ethnicities, race, religions or languages, and which calls for kind reasoning and dialogue with all their fellow human beings, abhors and despises all such criminal acts and had enacted the utmost severe punishment for their perpetrators.

One wonders if they are able to write such things with a straight face... All the above would be true if Muslims were to ignore the Koranic "sword verses" (e.g., 9:5 and 9:29), the doctrine of abrogation, which makes these verses supreme vis-a-vis the "peaceful" verses, the "pattern" of Muhammad's life (his sunna, which Sunnis are to emulate), and which consisted of violence, discrimination, and intolerance to non-Muslims, the decrees and fatwas of Islam's most authoritative ulema, and sharia's division of the world into Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb that must be in constant struggle until Islam prevails. Once we can move past these problematic "inconveniences," then we can begin to evaluate whether Islam is a "religion of peace" -- and all the rest.

It is frustrating to see some circles, still, maliciously trying to establish conceptual link between such evil and wicked practices and Islam, the religion that condemns, scorns and outlaws them.

It is on the premise of this irrefutable fact that we, in the OIC, call upon all well-intentioned peoples of the world [i.e., willful dhimmis], not to give to these criminals any right to present Islam, a right that Islam itself denies them. Those who refer to the perpetrators, as acting on behalf of Islam, help them by offering them justification, anchor and premise that they don't have or deserve. On the other hand, the generalization of the guilt of a few aberrant misguided individuals, to engulf the adherents of a religion of 1.5 billion followers is an outrageous judgment and amounts to an illegal collective punishment on a global scale. Moreover, any attempt to implicate all Muslims in such a wicked and wanton acts goes contrary to the well established principles of international law.

It is therefore hoped that media will avoid resorting to any reference to Islam when narrating such events in order not to disseminate erroneous information that might jeopardize the basic human rights of Muslims, the world over.

Muslim World League calls for "a strategic plan to introduce Islam as a solution to major problems facing humanity"

And, natch, as "a religion that promotes peace, freedom and tolerance."

Among the elements of this strategic plan:

■ “They should also make use of their good relations with Western countries to enact laws preventing the denigration of Islam and Muslim personalities”

■ "Islamic organizations have been asked to monitor school syllabuses in non-Muslim countries to prevent distortion of facts about Islam and Muslims."

"Forum calls for strategic plan to reach out to non-Muslims," by P.K. Abdul Ghafour for Arab News, December 4 (thanks to Paul):

JEDDAH: An international conference organized by the Muslim World League has called for a strategic plan to introduce Islam as a solution to major problems facing humanity and as a religion that promotes peace, freedom and tolerance.

The three-day conference, titled “Introducing Islam to non-Islamic countries: Reality and aspirations,” stressed that non-Muslims living in Islamic countries should enjoy all of the rights enjoyed by Muslims.

Really? All of them? In this they run counter to the provisions of traditional Islamic law regarding the subjugated status of the dhimmis, as mandated by the Qur'anic injunction that they pay the jizya (poll tax) "with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" (9:29).

"The subject peoples," [i.e., the dhimmis] according to a manual of Islamic law endorsed by Al-Azhar University in Cairo, must "pay the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)" and "are distinguished from Muslims in dress, wearing a wide cloth belt (zunnar); are not greeted with ‘as-Salamu ‘alaykum’ [the traditional Muslim greeting, 'Peace be with you']; must keep to the side of the street; may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims’ buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed; are forbidden to openly display wine or pork . . . recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals or feastdays; and are forbidden to build new churches." ('Umdat al-Salik, o11.3, 5).

"All of the rights"? Really? Is this a statement of reform? Somehow I doubt it, in light of their other statements -- particularly about restricting free speech (see below).

It said Muslim countries must introduce Islam to non-Muslim countries as part of efforts to improve foreign relations.

So this is avowedly a political effort, not solely a religious one.

“They should also make use of their good relations with Western countries to enact laws preventing the denigration of Islam and Muslim personalities,” said a final communiqué issued after the conference.

Ten to one they consider "denigration of Islam" to be any honest examination of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and supremacism. Why do I say that? Because we have seen it before. Here are four examples (one, two, three, four) of Islamic groups objecting to non-Muslims making accurate statements about Islam or Muhammad -- statements much like ones jihadists make without encountering serious opposition from their fellow Muslims.

The goal, in other words, is to silence non-Muslims regarding Islam, thus rendering us mute in the face of the global jihad. Mute and therefore defenseless.

The conferees stressed the need to produce Islamic TV programs in major world languages to introduce Islam to non-Muslims. They also urged Muslims to behave righteously with non-Muslims and understand their culture. “We should come up with innovative ideas to propagate the message of Islam, using the Internet and satellite channels,” it said.

The conference stressed the need to produce special media programs to address non-Muslims and urged support for their social development programs. Permanent and temporary exhibitions must be held to reach out to people, and specialized centers and academic chairs should be established to defend Islam. [...]

There are already specialized centers and academic chairs established to defend Islam. See, most notoriously, John Esposito's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding.

The conference noted anti-Islam smear campaign was one of the major challenges facing Islamic preachers in non-Muslim countries and urged Muslims to address this problem with unity. Islamic organizations have been asked to monitor school syllabuses in non-Muslim countries to prevent distortion of facts about Islam and Muslims.

Mumbai jihadists released 17 Russian hostages

This is a few days old, but I haven't seen it remarked upon anywhere. Were the Mumbai jihadists aware of how helpful Putin's Russia has been to the cause of the global jihad? "Terrorists let go 17 Russian hostages," from Rediff, November 28 (thanks to Undaunted):

Terrorists holed up inside Mumbai's Taj and Trident-Oberoi hotels allowed 17 Russian hostages, including nine defence contractors, to leave after checking their passports.

Earlier on Thursday, spokesman of Russian arms exporting company 'Rosoboronexport' had confirmed that nine of its specialists working on various defence projects in India were safely evacuated from the Taj Hotel.'

According to the 'Kommersant' daily, eight crew members of Russian Aeroflot airlines dining in the restaurant of Trident-Oberoi were also "politely asked" to follow the hotel staff, who guided them to safety outside the hotel....

Pakistan refuses to hand over jihadists to India

Zardari and his martyred wife: two vaunted "moderates"

Once again a "moderate" Muslim refuses to cooperate with non-Muslims in an effort to counter the jihad.

An update on this story. "Pakistan refuses to hand over suspects to India," from the Telegraph, December 3 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

Pakistan has said it won't hand over 20 terrorist suspects wanted by India in the wake of the Mumbai attacks.

Asif Ali Zardari said 20 terror suspects would be tried in Pakistan if there was evidence of wrongdoing.

Mr Zardari also said he doubted that a man being held in Indian custody over the attacks was a Pakistani citizen.

"We have not been given any tangible proof to say that he is definitely a Pakistani. I very much doubt ... that he's a Pakistani," Zardari told CNN's Larry King Live, adding that if given evidence his government would take action. [...]

Of course. He couldn't possibly be a Pakistani. Every fool who isn't a greasy Islamophobe knows that there are no jihadists in Pakistan. The man whom the Indians are holding is, doubtless, a Methodist from Kentucky.

WaPo: Oh, by the way, the Mumbai attackers were jihadists

The ever-insightful Diana West finds a throwaway detail buried deep in a Washington Post story: "Islam as B-Matter," by Diana West, December 3:

"A-matter" is newspaperese for the key facts about an event--the "top" of the story. "B-matter," then, is everything else--the extraneous color and details that may be cut from the bottom to fit a story to a page without detracting from the import and impact of the news.

In the so-called war on terror (or whatever it's known as), anything to do with Islam as the inspiration of terror is always an extraneous detail. Here's paragraph 12 from a Washington Post story today about Mumbai headlined: "Details Emerge from Sole Arrested Gunman." The paragraph begins with a quotation from an interrogator describing the surviving jihadist's--sorry, "gunmen's"--extensive training.

Juiced: Mumbai jihadists hopped up on coke, steroids

Yet another National Pastime sullied by steroid use.

"Mumbai attacks: Terrorists took cocaine to stay awake during assault," by Damien McElroy in the Telegraph, December 3 (thanks to Anne Crockett):

Terrorists who battled Indian commandos for 60-hours last week relied on cocaine and other stimulants to stay awake for the duration of the fight.

Officials said drug paraphernalia, including syringes, was recovered from the scene of the attacks, which killed almost 200 people.

The heavily built men, who had undergone training at a special marine camp established by the Lashkar-e-Taibat (LeT) terrorist group in Pakistan, had also used steroids to build a tougher physique.

"We found injections containing traces of cocaine and LSD left behind by the terrorists and later found drugs in their blood," said one official.

"There was also evidence of steroids, which isn't uncommon in terrorists.

"These men were all toned, suggesting they had been doing some heavy training for the attacks. This explains why they managed to battle the commandos for over 50 hours with no food or sleep."...

Everything that is old is new again. In the thirteenth century the Ismaili Shi'ite Hashishin (حشّاشين) (Assassins) got their name from their practice of using hashish before setting out on jihad missions to assassinate Sunni leaders.

And already the jihadists are once again breathing threats and murder -- because the book contains new drawings by the notorious Motoon artist Kurt Westergaard, who drew the famous cartoon of Muhammad above.

Here is yet another opportunity for Western authorities to stand up and call madness what it is, and defend the freedom of speech as a cornerstone of any society that is not a tyranny. And no doubt it will be yet another missed opportunity.

On November 12, 2008, the “Hanein” online forum published a post by an internet user named Abu Salem warning against the publication of new caricature drawings in Denmark. Abu Salem quoted an Arabic article published on a Danish news website on November 11, which discussed a new book about to be published in Denmark of caricature drawings of the Prophet Muhammad. In response to these new caricatures, the Danish Imam, Abdul Wahid Pedersen, described the drawings as part of a “storm” facing Danish Muslims over the past several years, in which a war of words and letters has transformed into one of caricatures.

Danish sources said the 73-year-old Danish caricaturist, Kurt Westergaard, has provided new caricatures for a soon-to-be published book in Denmark by Danish Historian Lars Hedegaard. The new caricature drawings depict the Prophet, politicians, and religious leaders. The book will contain 26 drawings by Westergaard, whose caricatures in the “Jyllands Posten” newspaper in September 2005 triggered a local and international crisis.

The forum serves as a mouthpiece for Al-Qaeda and other Jihad organizations, despite its proclamation that: "Hanein Forum Network would like to express that it is an independent network that seeks to preach for Allah as well as for what is best to serve the Islamic nation. Hanein has no geographic state, hence it doesn't belong to a country, a territory or a nationality." See: http://94.75.200.163/vb/main.php. This proclamation was added only in a recent upgrade to the website and did not appear previously. The Hanein forum may have been seeking to disassociate itself from Al-Qaeda following the blocking of the main Jihadi websites “Al-Firdaws” and “Al-Ikhlaas". [...]

Historian Lars Hedegaard heads an organization supporting freedom of speech and invited Geert Wilders, producer of the controversial movie “Fitna,” to Denmark in June 2008. According to the online post, Hedegaard’s book is set to be published at the beginning of December 2008.

In his post, Abu Salem requests that all who love the Prophet Muhammad help spread the news of the upcoming publication and notify religious leaders of what “these pigs” are attempting to do. One forum visitor responded to the post, suggesting that Bin Laden attack Copenhagen, repeating the call: “Bin Laden, Copenhagen!” several times. Another forum visitor wrote: “Our blood... our souls... our children... our money... all that we have... the entire world… anything so that a single hair of your distinguished head [i.e. Muhammad] is not harmed.”...

MSNBC anchor amazed that Obama's election hasn't ended jihad

Because of course the global jihad began as a reaction to the policies of George W. Bush, didn't it?

ALEX WITT: You know, John, and it’s interesting because there are many who had such an optimistic and hopeful opinion of things, and you certainly can’t expect things to change [snaps fingers] on a dime overnight, but there are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.

But now Alex Witt can report the rest of the story: it was all because the jihadists didn't get the memo!

MUMBAI - Ajmal Amir Kasab, the sole surviving member of the 10-man team of Pakistani gunmen that left hundreds dead or wounded after a bloody three day rampage in Mumbai, today blamed the mayhem on an "email mixup" that left him and his colleagues unaware that Barack Obama had won election as President of the United States.

"What? Oh bloody hell, now you tell me," said Kasab, as he was led away in handcuffs by Indian security forces.

Kasab, 21, apologized to Indian President Pratibha Patil, explaining that no one in his group had known about the recent U.S. election results.

"Boy, talk about having egg on the face," said a visibly embarrassed Kasab. "If we knew Bush was on his way out, obviously we would have called off the crazy random baby-shootings and martyrdom stuff, and signed on with the Peace Corps or Habitat for Humanity. At this point I guess all I can say is 'my bad.'"

"Seriously, I can't even begin to tell you how shitty the whole situation makes me feel," he added dejectedly. "Don't get me wrong, I'm as thrilled as everybody else to find out Barack won the election, but this moment is always going to be bittersweet knowing that all those shootings were tragically unnecessary. Not to mention the six weeks I wasted in training camp."

Kasab, who is personally suspected of killing over 30 victims at point-blank range in a posh Mumbai hotel, was at a loss to explain how he and other members of the terrorist assault team remained unaware of the historic U.S. election results that many American analysts predicted would lead to an immediate and permanent outbreak of rapturous harmony and transcendent brotherly love throughout the universe.

"Jeez, I'm... I don't know, I just never got any kind of memo," said Kasab. "The ironic thing is that just the other day, when we were ritually shaving our testicles for final martyrdom, a bunch of us were talking about how great and symbolic it would be if the American infidels would only elect an handsome, articulate young African-American infidel. That way we could just lay down the suicide belts and scimitars and suitcase nukes and finally get involved in the positive aspects of community activism, like raising awareness for breast cancer research. Look, I know it's a cliche to point fingers at the IT department, but our email system really sucks. And it's hard to find a decent wi-fi hot spot in Northwest Pakistan."...

Spencer: Still Unprepared Against Terror

In Human Events this morning, some lessons from Mumbai:

Why was India -- a nation that has suffered enormously from terrorism in the past seven years -- unprepared for the Mumbai attacks? And why are America, Britain and most of the rest of the civilized world equally unprepared even now, so many years after 9-11?

London’s Telegraph reported Monday that “the former head of Britain’s SAS has revealed that Britain is not adequately prepared for a Mumbai-style terror attack. He said hundreds of civilians would have been massacred if such an assault was carried out in this country.”

The primary reason for this unpreparedness, of course, is the unwillingness or inability of government, law enforcement, and the mainstream media to confront the ideology of the jihadists and the Islamic doctrines that provide the foundation for that ideology.

Pakistan braces for retaliatory airstrike from India on jihadist headquarters

India hunts for a "Mafia don"

In this story from The Australian, India is demanding that Pakistan turn over a "Mafia don." Anything to avoid calling a jihadist a jihadist.

PAKISTAN was bracing last night for a retaliatory airstrike by India against the sprawling headquarters of the al-Qa'ida-linked Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist organisation near Lahore.

As Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari warned the LET militants "had the power to precipitate war in the region", India demanded that Islamabad hand over a list of about 20 people, including India's most-wanted man Dawood Ibrahim.

India's military chiefs were exerting strong pressure on the country's political leaders to give permission to attack the headquarters, an 80ha site at Muridke, close to the Punjab capital of Lahore, just across the border from India.

The reports came as the Indian Government summoned the Pakistani high commissioner in New Delhi yesterday to demand "strong action" against the Pakistani militants who it says were responsible for last week's attacks on Mumbai.

New Delhi warned Shahid Malik that India expected Islamabad to take "swift action" to deal with the evidence of involvement by LET operating from bases inside Pakistan.

India demanded that Islamabad extradite Ibrahim, a fugitive Mumbai mafia don who it believes has links to LET, the terrorist group long allied to Pakistan's ISI spy agency.

Mafia don?

India also asked for Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the LET founder, and Maulana Masood Azhar, the head of militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad, who was freed in exchange for passengers on a hijacked Indian Airlines flight in 1999.

"Saeed's a pimp. He never could've out-fought India. But I didn't know until this day that it was Dawood Ibrahim all along."

Ibrahim, Mumbai's most notorious underworld don, is the head of D-Company, a feared crime syndicate, and one of the world's five most wanted men. He is widely believed to have worked closely with al-Qa'ida. He is also thought to have masterminded the 1993 Mumbai bombings, a series of 13 explosions that claimed 250 lives....

Panel: Nuke or bio attack on U.S. likely by 2013

What kind of "terrorists" are trying to do this? Fox doesn't say, but it doesn't mention way down in the article that Al-Qaeda would love to launch a nuclear or biological attack. Did this panel discuss combating within the United States the ideology that fuels the desire to mount this kind of attack, and to imprison and/or deport those who advocate for that ideology? It appears that it didn't. Now, why not?

"Nuclear or Bioterror Attack on U.S. Likely by 2013, Panel Warns," from FoxNews, December 2 (thanks to George):

Terrorists are likely to attack the United States using nuclear or biological weapons before 2013, according to a report released by a bipartisan commission.

Vice President-elect Joe Biden was briefed on the panel's study on Tuesday. Among other things, the report suggests that the incoming Obama administration shore up its counterterrorism efforts to fight against germ warfare.

"Our margin of safety is shrinking, not growing," states the report, a copy of which was obtained by FOX News. It is scheduled to be publicly released Wednesday.

The commission is also encouraging the new White House to appoint one official on the National Security Council to exclusively coordinate U.S. intelligence and foreign policy on combatting the spread of nuclear and biological weapons.

The report of the Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism, led by former Sens. Bob Graham of Florida and Jim Talent of Missouri, acknowledges that terrorist groups still lack the needed scientific and technical ability to make weapons out of pathogens or nuclear bombs.

But it warns that gap can be easily overcome, if terrorists find scientists willing to share or sell their know-how.

"The United States should be less concerned that terrorists will become biologists and far more concerned that biologists will become terrorists," the report states....

Italy arrests two jihadists planning attacks on Italian civilians

They met to plot jihad at the "Peace Cultural Centre."

"Al Qaeda terror suspects nabbed," from ANSA, December 2 (thanks to Insubria):

(ANSA) - Milan, December 2 - Milan anti-terrorist police on Tuesday arrested two Moroccans suspected of belonging to al Qaeda who were planning attacks on targets in northern Italy.

Police said Rachid Ilhami, 31, and Gafir Abdelkader, 42, had planned attacks on a supermarket and a night club carpark in Seregno and two police stations in Giussano, both towns in the northern province of Monza.

Wiretaps revealed the men had initially planned to use a van packed with explosives but then decided on oxygen cylinders after Internet research.

Police said the men had revealed their links to al Qaeda during their conversations.

A total of ten people are under investigation as a result of the operation.

Police also seized the Peace Cultural Centre in the village of Macherio, where Ilhami worked as a preacher.

According to investigators, small groups of fundamentalists met at the centre in the evenings after the day's official sermons were finished.

Raymond Ibrahim Appointed Associate Director of the Middle East Forum

Pakistan "security expert": Mumbai the work of "Hindu Zionists" and "Western Zionists"

Unhone media mein perception management bahut acchha kiya . Indians ne wahi game repeat karne ki koshish ki, lekin akal to hai nahin . In ahmakon ne complete disaster kiya isko handle karne mein . (The Americans executed the 9/11 attack perfectly. They managed the media very well. The Indians tried to repeat the formula but goofed up. The idiots made a complete mess of it).

He said that the attackers wore saffron Hindu Zionist bands, which no Muslim would tie. Hamid also said that within the first 5 minutes of the attack, the three ATS policemen investigating the network of terror within India's security agencies and radical right were killed....

"Hindu Zionists." Well, I suppose it is no more outlandish a construct than "Non-Supremacist Islam."

UK Muslim leader: "In an Islamic state, non-Muslims will have to wear a sign to show what they are – it should say Kaffir. We won’t discriminate on height, race or appearance but we will discriminate on faith."

Choudary believes no non-Muslim is innocent

He branded Britain “filthy”, accused children of being “prostitutes” and demanded non-Muslims wear signs like the Nazis forced on the Jews in WWII.

Crazed Choudary said: “In Britain there are 230 rapes every day, that’s 10 per hour. Supermarkets are selling poles for little children so they can become prostitutes when they grow up. There’s no comparison between our way of life and theirs.

Meanwhile, one of Choudary’s henchmen at Islam4UK, which has close links to banned group al-Muhajiroun, warned: “You will know when the Muslims have ignited an insurrection when there is blood on the streets of London and New York like there is blood on the streets of Fallujah and Mumbai.”...
